Baptism

About Baptism

Baptism is an important step of obedience that shows others we have personally trusted Jesus for our salvation. Jesus was baptized when He was on the earth, and we do this to follow His example. When Christians are baptized, they are submerged under water to identify with the death and burial of Jesus and raised out of the water to identify with His resurrection. Baptism shows others that you have been made new. It also symbolizes your old sinful life being washed clean because of your personal faith in Jesus.

If you’ve made the decision to follow Christ, baptism is one of the most meaningful next steps you can take. Baptism is a public celebration of your decision to follow Christ. Water baptisms take place on-site in our baptistery during cold months or off-site on the waterfront in warmer weather.
